Job Description:

We currently have openings for Supplier Quality Engineers to join our team. As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will be responsible for leading a team of quality assurance professionals that will drive supplier excellence through appropriate onboarding, monitoring and other supplier related quality initiatives. To be successful, the incumbent must effectively collaborate with other functional areas such as procurement, manufacturing engineering and design engineering. The successful candidates will:

  • Drive advanced product quality planning throughout the product maturity cycle

  • Participation and collaborate in kick-off reviews including technical and program reviews

  • Lead supplier conferences and workshops

  • Benchmark and adapt industry best practices to drive state of the art supplier quality management standard work

  • Team with supply chain to drive counterfeit parts avoidance and prevention, mistake and error proofing, and lean manufacturing initiatives

  • Drive continuous improvement and corrective/preventive action planning

  • Engage in operating income initiatives, reducing operations costs and increasing efficiency

  • Regularly report FRACAS and failure analysis

  • Comply with ISO/AS9100 regulations

  • Maintain a high performing supply base by constantly assessing risks, monitoring performance trends, measuring key performance indicators and performing supplier capability and quality management systems assessments

  • Partner with key suppliers to utilize their expertise to optimize the cost, quality, delivery and manufacturability of their products and services as well as drive improvement in their overall quality systems

  • Participate and provide leadership in supplier quality, supplier development, and supplier oversight activities

  • Participate in supplier corrective action

  • Provide supplier support of Harris at PDRs, CDRs, PMRs, etc.

  • Authorized supplier representative/certified supplier program

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in a technical field (engineering preferred) and a minimum of 12 years’ experience within operations, supply chain or quality

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prior experience in management capacity is preferred

  • Quality assurance background/experience preferred

  • Space and defense industry experience is preferred
