Job Location: Hampton, VA locations to include but not limited to: Langley AFB; Suffolk, VA
Conduct systems engineering activities in support of “deployed” systems. Duties include hardware/software installation, verification/testing and documentation of patch updates to be deployed out to customer sites.
Advocate for imagery and video processing systems at customer sites working with the base personnel and end users.
Provide field investigation of technical problems with systems and report updates to leadership.
Conducts training to end users and system administrators following installation activities.
Monitor system performance and communicate field issues to engineering team.
Implement software and hardware upgrades as required.
Prepare and provide technical data to other engineering sections for contractors and vendors for utilization in support activities.
Identify, investigate and report on other areas in the customer space where we can grow the Harris footprint with software licenses or services.
Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of related experience or equivalent
TS/SCI Clearance Required
CompTIA Security+ Certification
Ability to travel overseas
Valid US Passport
Preferred Additional Skills:
Linux System administration and troubleshooting experience
Server hardware & software troubleshooting
Networking experience configuring and troubleshooting switches, firewalls and routers
5+ years of experience performing field hardware and software support
Understanding/experience with imagery data processing and exploitation
Experience with curl, SQL, etc.
Familiarity with Apache web server and Apache Tomcat application server
Certification in one of more of the following: A+, Network=, SSCP, GSEC, SCNP, CISA, GSE, SCNA or CISSP
Experience with Shell scripting (e.g. Bash, Perl or Python)
General understanding of basic business competencies and customer support best practices
Broad general knowledge of technical competencies of engineering standards, principles and theories to complete engineering tasks assigned
Ability to train end users (such as geospatial analysts/imagery analysts)
Strong communication skills (speaking, writing, documenting)
Previous deployment experience preferred
