Job Description:

Support engineers, especially those within system engineering, performing activities within our product development, contracts, and operations/process improvement activities. The primary role is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the engineering team.

Typical duties include:

  • Maintenance of system engineering documentation, requirements, verification activities within the DOORS database.

  • Tracking action items and updating system engineering metrics.

  • Assisting with logistics for design reviews, technical review boards, training events, etc.

  • Coordinating release and entry into configuration management of system engineering documents (specs, ICD’s) and verification/sell-off documentation. This includes review and editing, routing for signatures, etc.

  • Research and retrieval of information and documentation from past programs.

  • Assisting with office moves, IT requests, new employee orientations, meeting preparations, etc.

  • Develop improved processes and documentation within projects and across the system engineering flow.

  • Gather information and communicate status, reports, newsletters, web-pages, portals, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent

Desired Skills:

  • An understanding of the systems / product development process (Integrated Product Lifecycle)

  • Knowledge of standards & operating procedures

  • Familiarity with technical information & procedures

  • Previous experience in DOORS, Windchill, MS Office suite.

  • Configuration Management background and understanding a plus

  • Excellent team skills

  • Technical aptitude

  • Strong interpersonal and organizing, coordinating, & prioritizing skills

  • Good oral & written communications skills

  • Ability to work as a team member in a highly dynamic environment

  • Self starter, able to perform without constant supervision

  • Willingness to learn & apply new methods & toolsets
