Summary of key responsibilities:

This position is for a highly-motivated, self-starting individual with a working knowledge of accounts receivable, revenue recognition regulations and business reporting to support the Harris Space and Intelligence Segment Financial Planning organization. The scope of the position includes ensuring that all receivable activities are executed on a timely basis within GAAP and FAR/CAS guidelines. This role will also support a variety of other functions including but not limited to participating in special projects, and initiatives to optimize the performance of the accounts receivable and billing functions; and providing support to program management. This scope of the duties will involve regular interface with other functional groups (Government Compliance, Contracts, negotiation teams, internal auditors, external auditors, DCAA auditors, and personnel at other SIS facilities, program managers and Harris SIS management).

Principal Accountabilities:

• Preparing invoices for SIS program contracts and maintaining related program financials

• Perform monthly and annual reporting as required for management and accounting purposes

• Support timely, accurate and complete audit documentation upon request

• Support all Sarbanes Oxley requirements for revenue recognition

• Seek methods to automate manual processes

• Participating in special projects, month end processing, and program reporting


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 3 years of experience with generally accepted accounting & auditing principles; or equivalent.

  • 3 years experience in performing accounting, accounts receivable and/or auditing work

  • 3 years intermediate level Excel skills

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Aptitude for detailed work, data analysis and follow-up

  • Working knowledge of both FAR and CAS requirements.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
