Job Description:

  • Support the designs and implementation of complex tactical communications systems solutions from initial concepts through execution, delivery, and follow-on customer support.

  • Under the direction of System Engineers and Lead Specialists support the design of systems utilizing Harris and other OEM equipment to offer a complete customer solution integrated into customer systems and platforms (land vehicle, ship, aircraft, UAV)

  • Develop cable designs and work with vendors or internal custom assembly technicians to deliver the custom cable

  • Create interface control drawings and bills of material (BOMs)

  • Perform radio testing based on developed test procedures

  • Design and develop test fixtures and be responsible for the maintenance and calibration of test equipment

  • Clearly and accurately document designs and test results as well as maintain configuration control of the designs and documentation


High School Degree plus radio or electronics training in Military or technical school or Associates Degree in the area of electronics

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Familiarity with tactical and/or public safety radios. Basic understanding of radio propagation a plus.

  • Familiarity with specifying power supplies and developing power budgets.

  • Ability to rapidly prototype mechanical concepts

  • Working familiarity with applicable regulations and best practices; e.g., NEC, UL, TUV, CSA, Mil Spec

  • Computer Proficiency – Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, CAD software (AutoCad familiarity preferred)

  • Team player able to operate in a multi-tasking environment

  • Experience with design and Integration of electronics subsystem equipment into vehicle platforms and/or fixed site platforms)

  • Basic to intermediate understanding and proficiency with DC and AC electrical systems operation and functionality.
