Job Description:

Provides administrative and clerical support specifically related to cost estimating support for Defense Communications. The position requires communication with contacts, typically within and outside the department, on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. The position wil assist with creating quotes that include cost of items from the bill of material structure on a released or new design of a system or product.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain files, Request for Quote’s for material and labor, and other related documentation

  • Maintain information on computer systems

  • Prepare standard requests for quotations

  • Perform functions associated with quoting cost, delivery, and lead time for raw material and labor associated with Engineering designs and products supported by Harris Defense Manufacturing Operations

  • Evaluation and validity of historical estimates based on business rules

  • Estimate labor by working with production leads

  • Make recommendations for solutions to improve the process

  • Perforrm task requiring a strong understanding of Procurement, Finance, and Manufacturing Engineering

  • Read Engineering Drawings and Spec sheets

  • Communicate effectively both oral and written

  • Navigate multiple systems (Excel, Oracle, Expo, Agile, CRM)

    Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Strong communication skills

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $46,000 - $86,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
