Job Description:

The Optics/ Fabrication Supervisor provides organizational leadership to an Operations Team in the delivery of products against various project deliverables to meet customer objectives in a highly technical, fast-paced aerospace environment. Assists in developing work packages negotiated with various programs to include scope clarification & management, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and change authorization. Assesses and communicates risks to Leadership and programs; proposes aggressive solutions to problems. Delivers products of defined scope, on a specified budget and schedule requirements representing a single point of contact to Project Managers/Programs. Manages team in a way that effectively meets program commitments and employee/organizational objectives, taking total ownership for all activities within Area. Defines Operational resource needs and works with supervision within the Management team. Manages status reporting to include: schedule milestones, estimate to complete, variance analysis reports for work within the Optics/ Fabrication scope

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree with 10+ years of experience; or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience leading a manufacturing team

  • 10+ years’ experience in Optics manufacturing in an Aerospace environment highly desired

  • Effective project management knowledge and ability required to plan and manage schedules and budgets for specified project deliverables

  • Technical competency, organizational knowledge, and understanding of aerospace methodologies

  • Experience with Optical product manufacturing and testing

  • Experience as a team leader managing the development and delivery of optical products

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to de-conflict priority tasks

  • Working knowledge of Value Based Lean Six Sigma (VBLSS) tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills for technical and non-technical audiences, and business communications

  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical software

  • Eligibility to obtain a US security clearance required
