Provide engineering support for the manufacture of a variety of mid to large-sized prototype and state-of-the-art optical components for internal Harris systems and external commercial customers.
Monitor optical fabrication process quality.
Propose and lead fabrication process improvement projects.
Write detailed process instructions.
Interface with and direct technicians and operations personnel.
Support engineering, design development, analysis, manufacturing, process development, and proposal activities.
- Bachelor degree with 3+ years of prior related experience, or equivalent.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Master's Degree in Optics, Physics, Ceramics, or Mechanical Engineering
Ability to provide strong leadership to teams made up of engineers and technicians
The ability to provide technical leadership to a team of highly skilled process/metrology engineers and technicians
Knowledge of statistical analysis and Design of Experiments
Proof of strong problem solving capability and people skills, and the ability to conduct presentations for management, technical experts, and customers
Experience with computer controlled (CNC) manufacturing processes is a plus
Experience with commercially available interferometry systems (ex. Zygo, 4D) and analysis software (ex. Matlab, MetroPro) desired.
