Job Description:

The TCOM Business Strategy Manager collaborates with key leaders across the business to deliver best in class corporate and strategic planning to support the company's short and long-term objectives and leading market position. They will be responsible for leading and facilitating the development of the annual Strategic Growth Plan as well as continuous evaluation of execution against it. The position will develop and lead a team of employees in the collection, analysis, and distribution of market, competitive, and business intelligence to support business planning and investments. S/he will implement new tools and processes to continuously improve the accuracy and efficiency of the function. The position is also responsible for leading special cross functional projects throughout the organization and ensuring their successful completion, including CHQ requests.

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development.

  • Provides leadership, management, direction, and oversight for the department of 3-7 employees including staffing, training, budgeting, and planning.

  • Plans and facilitates the development of the annual Strategic Growth Plan (SGP).

  • Coordinates divisional requests and deliverables to and from Corporate Headquarters.

  • Leads cross functional teams across the business to plan and execute strategy initiatives and key pursuits/campaigns.

  • Manages subscriptions to research databases and leads external research engagements across all CS divisions.

  • Leads a team responsible for the analysis of markets including definition, sizing, research, forecasting and reporting.

  • Leads a team responsible for the collection and distribution of competitive intelligence, including competitive black hats and price to win studies.

  • Creates tools and resources to be used by the organization to facilitate the development of proposals, bids, and business cases

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9+ years of experience with strategy and communications; or Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience with strategy and communications.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across all management levels throughout the organization (specifically in PowerPoint) with demonstrated ability to interact with leaders at the executive level.

  • Excellent analytical and business modeling skills (specifically in Excel)

  • Demonstrated leadership and cross functional project management ability

  • Consistent accuracy, promptness and attention to detail

  • Familiarity and experience developing a multibillion-dollar organization’s strategic plan

  • Ability to utilize data and analytics to derive actionable recommendations

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadline

  • A basic understanding of major tactical and/or Public Safety programs

  • Demonstrated skills in gathering data from multiple, often disparate, sources and synthesizing raw data into meaningful reports and presentations

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different elements of a business organization

  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial statements, such as 10-Ks & 10-Qs

  • Experience with 3rd-party teaming and partnership agreements

  • Familiar with market/competitive intelligence and its effect on strategic growth plan process and ultimately on business decisions

  • Understanding of Harris Communication Systems competitive landscape in the tactical communications, public and professional communications, and Night Vision global markets
