Image Scientists are responsible for providing image expertise in support of developing analytical processes and tools as well as assessing image quality impacts associated with collection and processing for dissemination, archival, exploitation and display of digital imagery. Develop functional design specifications for actuator control electronic boards defining I/O, telemetry and functional requirements.
Provides image science expertise in support of developing analytical processes and tools.
Assess image quality impacts associated with collection, processing, dissemination, archival, exploitation and display of digital imagery.
Performs image quality and analysis evaluations using IDL and ENVI.
Investigates, analyzes and provides solutions to highly complex problems encountered by engineering services and quality control using standard engineering practices.
Authors technical documents and presentations.
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Materials Science Engineering
GPA of 3.0 or greater required .
Ability to obtain a clearance
PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Education and experience in a remote sensing, imaging science and/or image processing.
Experience with MATLAB, UNIX based scripting, and/or C++ programming.
Experience with image compression algorithms.
Ability to develop and utilize image processing algorithms.
Experience with design of multi-variable experiments and related statistical data analysis.
Experience with imaging system performance prediction modeling and metrics.
Experience with Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI).
Experience with Imagery utility and psychophysical evaluations and modeling.
Experience with analysis, simulation, and modeling of Visible and IR electro-optical (EO) systems.
Active TS/SCI Clearance.
