Field Engineer - TACCOM
Field Engineer to serve in a factory and field service role in support of all company products.
Job responsibilities include travel to customer's site to perform installation, hardware and firmware upgrades, repairs, training, site surveys and demonstrations.
Analyzes software and hardware requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Consults with electrical or mechanical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software operation and system performance.
Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming and documentation.
AAS/BS or relevant military experience required in relative technical area. This must include radio operation skills and maintenance skills to system and component levels.
Applicant must have a strong radio communication background with good electronic and mechanical abilities and at least 7+ years relevant commercial experience OR 9+ year’s relevant military experience required in relevant technical area.
Applicant must have the desire and ability to travel CONUS and international for extended periods of time given advance or short notice.
4+ years’ experience in the use of basic test equipment such as DVM, Watt meter, signal generator, and oscilloscope.
1+ years’ experience with installation of HF, VHF, UHF/SATCOM and Networking radio systems in commercial and military vehicles/facilities.
4+ years radio communications experience and mechanical skills and fabrication. Excellent system level trouble shooting skills required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. without assistance and over that amount with assistance.
Ability to climb ladders, towers or other elevated work platforms.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in team leadership and attention to detail of all aspects of work to be accomplished.
Familiarity with CAD or VISIO software for mechanical and electrical assembly fabrication.
Proficient use of all MS Office products to include Access
Computer and Network configuration / troubleshooting desire.
Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Radio Test Sets, DC/DC & AC/DC Power Systems, and Uninterruptable Power Systems.
