Be a key technical member of a product support engineering team, focusing on RF, power supply and analog circuitry over a broad spectrum of power levels, from microwatt to kilowatt.
Have significant responsibilities in the design, documentation, integration, troubleshooting and/or testing analysis of radio and accessory products.
Estimate the impact of unforeseen design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs and elevate significant ones to appropriate management and/or design engineering personnel.
Devise and implement efficient rework and repair procedures for manufacturing to ensure continuous and smooth manufacturing flow.
Provide appropriate and timely documentation of changes, status and technical reports, and review same from other team members when required.
Search and approve alternate components for shortages or obsolescence, and support the resolution of supplier technical issues.
Interact frequently with both technical and non-technical personnel from other departments, especially manufacturing and Test.
A Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electronics plus a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
The ability to read and interpret schematics of electronic circuits.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
A working knowledge of Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers and other pieces of test equipment.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Be a team-oriented individual, with good interpersonal skills to interface with other departments.
Have good to excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
Be a self-starter, able to adjust and prioritize work activities to meet schedule demands.
Have familiarity with Agile or a similar documentation application.
Have a broad skill set with solid hands-on experience in analog and RF circuitry and test equipment - both design and test.
Have experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, debugging and repairing complex electrical equipment.
Have experience with conducting engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work.
Have excellent soldering skills to become IPC certified.
Be capable of building and testing electrical and mechanical prototypes.
Be capable of identifying and differentiating between HW and SW problems.
Be capable of performing circuit board modifications using SMT and Through Hole Technology.
Have knowledge of mechanical and environmental issues, and RF power amplifiers.
Have experience with generating test scripts; LabVIEW experience is a plus.
