Job Description:

The IRAD and CheckPoint Analyst is a key role in the Strategy and Business Development group within Communication Systems. This role has interaction with all areas of the front end of the business, including finance, product line management, sales, strategy and engineering. This role tracks projects from ideation through launch using various Communication Systems tools forums. The candidate will play key roles in IRAD, CheckPoint management, Strategy creation and execution and HBX. This is a highly visible role with room for growth in the Strategy and Business Development team.

IRAD:

This position is a key role for Communication Systems IRAD. The candidate is responsible for ensuring all IRAD meetings have the correct content and run smoothly. The candidate works closely with the engineering, strategy and Product Line Management to create the IRAD portfolio and all of the material in support of the portfolio. The candidate will attend and contribute to monthly meetings related to IRAD, the execution of IRAD and produce metrics concerning the performance of IRAD projects.

CheckPoint:

This position is a key role in the management and execution of Communication Systems CheckPoint reviews. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring the creation of review content, reviewing and providing feedback for CheckPoint gate packages and attending review meetings. The candidate will own the CheckPoint schedule and guide the project teams into the successful execution of their gate packages. A key part of the role will be utilizing and interfacing with the Sopheon IRAD management software tool, which includes all tracking, metrics and dates for IRAD projects.

Strategy:

One of the key roles for this position is participating in the creation of strategy during the Strategic Growth Planning period. The candidate will participate in the creation of IRAD content for Communication Systems SGP, working with the business to ensure CS growth needs are met in alignment with corporate strategic goals. The candidate will actively participate in monthly Technology and Engineering Council meetings creating and delivering IRAD content for the business.

HBX:

This role will own the HBX portfolio for the CS Strategy and Business group. The candidate will work to obtain/find new projects to add on an ongoing basis and will maintain a detailed tracking sheet on project data and current status for each project on a monthly basis. The candidate works directly with CS HBX leads to help define hard savings for the business. The candidate will lead quarterly reviews of HBX projects to ensure they are on track and delivering savings.

Qualifications:

-Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field and at least 6 years of new product engineering experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

-Masters Degree in Business Administration

-Strong knowledge of business and financial metrics

-Experience in applying business knowledge to product maturation

-Ability to provide clear, concise and candid feedback for presentations

-Experience with SGP process

-Experience handling near term deadlines successfully

-Knowledge of business practices

-Knowledge of Harris communications systems or ability to learn products quickly

-Strong written and verbal skills

-Experience managing and running large meetings with 5+ presenters and 20+ attendees

-Strong ability to translate thoughts and concepts into easy to understand graphics

-Experience translating strategy into projects

-Acute awareness and application of accuracy
