Job Description:

This position is responsible for Quality improvement issues related to suppliers and/or subcontractors of materials, products or services used in development or manufacturing.

  • Analyze supplier performance and develop improvement plans for identified problem areas

  • Use Six Sigma & Lean concepts for supplier improvement of quality and delivery metrics

  • Provide training for basic quality methodologies to support supplier partnerships

  • Support programs assessing potential new suppliers

  • Support commodity strategies and sourcing initiatives

  • Implement Supplier Partnership concepts with focus suppliersReview, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.

  • Perform PFMEAs on critical processes

  • Advanced product Quality Planning, SPC, Predictive Quality methodologies, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, problem solving methodologies and Lean Concepts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in: Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years experience in supporting design, development, manufacturing and/or supplier quality activities.

  • OR, Masters Degree in: Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years experience in supporting design, development, manufacturing and/or supplier quality activities.

  • Direct experience working with suppliers to improve processes and identify corrective actions

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Lean/Six Sigma training (Preference is certified green/black belt).

  • ASQ certification or ability to demonstrate proven results with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) implementation with suppliers is preferred

  • Willingness to travel up to 75% percent.

  • SPC, Predictive Quality methodologies, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and problem solving methodologies.

  • Supplier Development and Engagement.

  • Ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive projects to closure.

  • Experience presenting to upper-level management.

  • Interactive skills, strong written and communication skills, are preferred.

  • AS9100 and process audit experience is preferred.
