This is an entry-level position with the In-Process Test group. Significant training and skills development will be offered. Candidate will gain a high degree of knowledge and skills in this area of expertise and should be willing to take on new, varied tasks on a daily basis. The In-Process test group is responsible for ensuring that manufactured circuit cards are built to print, with no manufacturing defects. In order to effectively perform this function, the in-process test group regularly:
Engages with engineering during the design cycle (design-for-test reviews, etc)
Processes and reviews CAD design data using Allegro / Teradyne D2B
Matches electrical designs with suitable test equipment
Generates test plans matching designs with equipment suitable to test it effectively
Generates, debugs, deploys, and supports these test solutions
Equipment includes meters, oscilloscopes, thermal imagers, Acculogic flying probe machines, Teradyne in-circuit testers, JTAG Technologies boundary scan equipment, and more. Harris products range from simple connector cards to the electronic hearts of the worlds' most cutting edge satellites. All of this hardware passes through the In-Process Test group as it moves from fabrication to system integration, providing an inquisitive junior test engineer with myriad opportunities to learn and grow. Will learn how to successfully test mission-critical hardware without imposing intrusive test requirements, learn why circuitry is designed the way it is, how to interface with modern design elements (memories, sensors, etc), and how to use this knowledge to extend test capabilities.
- Bachelor degree with 2+ years of experience; or equivalent
Familiarity with basic electronics (R/L/C/CR/FET/etc)
Familiarity with basic digital logic (truth tables, etc)
Ability to read and understand device datasheets
Ability to read and navigate schematics
Familiarity with test equipment fundamentals (how a meter operates in R/L/C mode, how to use oscilloscopes, etc)
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Ability to proactively identify and solve problems related to various aspects of product manufacturing
Self-starter able to work with minimal direction
