This position will be responsible for providing Circuit Card Assembly Design support to customer-funded programs and internal research efforts within our Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) business unit of Harris Corporation.

Understand the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) design process and the tools used to generate DSP designs on embedded systems.
Understand the requirements, architect a solution targeting DSP functions against those requirements, and implement that solution in an FPGA device.
Generate all peer review and deliverable documentation including: review packages, block diagrams, interface control documents, test procedures, requirements verification matrices, and test plans/procedures.
Simulate the DSP algorithms to verify performance on tools such as Matlab/Simulink, then integrate and test the DSP design on a circuit card assembly.
Full life cycle development and integration of DSP algorithms in FPGAs including: Fast Fourier Transforms (FFTs), matrix/linear algebra algorithms, digital filters, correlation algorithms, forward error correction algorithms, compression algorithms, MODEM algorithms, and embedded memory management.
Thorough understanding of VHDL, the FPGA design process and the tools used to generate the FPGA designs.
Opportunity to lead a small team of designers in generating the DSP design solutions.
- BSEE Degree with 6 years experience in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or software engineering.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with high speed memory interfaces.
Experience with high speed serial protocols (PCI Express, SRIO, Ethernet).
Experience with Analog to Digital (AD) and Digital to Analog (DA) interfaces.
Experience with control protocols such AXI, I2C, SPI, RS-232/422, and SpaceWire.
Experience managing flash file systems.
Self-motivated individual with the ability to work and communicate effectively within a development group including the negotiation of solutions with other disciplines (hardware, systems, etc).
Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink DSP prototyping environments including DSP System Toolbox, Communications System Toolbox, etc.
Proficiency managing source code in revision controls systems such as Subversion, Clearcase, GIT, etc.
Experience with Xilinx Vivado and the ability to build FPGAs with difficult timing/routing constraints.
