Job Description:

Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring environmental health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local environmental health and safety regulations applicable to air, industrial wastewater, potable water, domestic wastewater, storm water, US DOT, regulated waste management, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans (SPCCP), TIER II and TRI reporting, and emergency response (HAZWOPER).

Responsible for supporting the development and execution of the business sustainability strategic planning and execution. Regular reporting of sustainability data metrics.

Demonstrated experience in multiple environmental compliance programs and supervising staff and contractors.

Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the EHS chemical tracking database and for the generation of all environmental program reports.

Ensure appropriate personnel are properly trained in regulated waste management, storm water, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans (SPCCP), HAZWOPER as well as in areas determined by segment EHS leadership.

Interact with multiple levels of personnel including senior management and government agencies.

Must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision in the completion of multiple environmental compliance reports and permit requirements with accuracy and attention to detail under limited supervision and meet multiple regulatory and segment deadlines. Able to prioritize in a high-volume, multi-tasking environment.

Must be able to quickly synthesize technical and program information and apply regulatory requirements.

Response and support of incidents, regulator visits, and support 24 hour on-call / hurricane response duties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science or Engineering with 10 plus years applicable experience; or equivalent.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills including presentations, negotiations, Executive meeting facilitation, and producing written documents.

  • Must have strong computer skills with strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong working knowledge of Gensuite (Online EHS management system) and EHS chemical tracking and environmental reporting is preferred.
