Harris Corporation is seeking a segment-level Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer for its Space and Intelligence Systems (SIS) segment. Key responsibilities will include:
Drive the specification and planning for next-generation manufacturing concepts, including leading definition for next-generation manufacturing facilities
Drive the development of the SIS manufacturing technology roadmap, leveraging best practices to deploy a framework for the optimal use of technology to improve manufacturing quality, schedule, and cost performance
Provide input into the definition and implementation of a segment level multi-site Design for Manufacturing (DFM) framework as part of New Product Development (NPD) Process
Collaborate with peers across manufacturing sites in IN, FL, NJ, CO, and NY to ensure defined methodologies are deployed consistently across the organization, while also directly participating on design teams to directly influence manufacturability for key programs
The Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with peers within other Harris segments and functions to ensure methodologies are well-aligned across segments and well-integrated with related concurrent engineering activities within the Engineering and Business Unit organizations.
This position can be located either in Palm Bay, FL or Rochester, NY and will report to the segment Director of Manufacturing.
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline with experience leading teams, managing productivity improvements, and participating in NPD teams, AND
12 + years of diverse Operations experience in the manufacture and test of highly complex electronics, electro-optics, and/or electro-mechanical assemblies in high reliability applications; OR
Equivalent education and years of work experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience leading the deployment of new manufacturing technologies
Experience deploying DFM & DFT strategies on high complexity products and programs
Demonstrated track record working in cross-functional teams and influencing organizational change
MBA or advanced Engineering degree
Experience in CCA manufacturing, mechanical assembly, machine shop, finishing, electrical assembly, composites, and testing operations
Working familiarity with CAD and other software-based tools to improve manufacturability (Valor)
Ability to develop and build a high performing organization
Ability to develop and manage organizational budgets
Demonstrated experience in Lean principles; mistake proofing, 3P, etc.
Black Belt or Green Belt certification
