Job Description:

Harris is seeking a Program Financial Analyst to support programs and contracts in a DoD environment. Analyst will serve as interface for proposals, billings, forecasting, cost control, EVMS, and other financial controls and perform the following duties:

  • Sets up cost control system, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.

  • Creates a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), preparing and managing budgets, preparing EAC’s and forecasting profits and analyzing impacts.

  • Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.

  • Performs schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.

  • Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.

  • Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.


  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance required along with 6+ years’ experience setting up and monitoring cost control system on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system in a DoD or government environment.

  • 6+ years of experienceforecasting, managing, preparing, administering, and monitoring programs.

  • 2+ years of experience reviewing and approving recommendations for financial planning and control.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in accounting procedures and practices.

  • Experience in EVMS and MPM.

  • Working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations.

  • Experience in EVMS and/or Microsoft Project a plus.

  • Ability to work with management and other functional areas in a fast-paced multiple project environment with changing priorities.
