The role of the IT Contracts/Licensing Manager is to lead the IT Contracts/Licensing Administration team to support, manage, and administer new requests for IT hardware and IT contract initiation and renewals for software and application services and products across the organization. This includes managing a repository of applications and associated contracts and coordinating cross function activities related to services and applications acquisitions and renewals. The IT Contracts/Licensing Manager will also support defining and facilitating communication between the enterprise and its providers to deliver software and applications according to plan and within budget, and to ensure licensing compliance.
Strategy & Planning
Conceive, develop, and deliver techniques, practices, and procedures for licensing administration in a manner that best protects company interests
Develop, establish, implement, and enforce vendor guidelines, obligations, and service level agreements to the organization
Define contract recommendations that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Acquisition & Deployment
Compile and maintain inventory of company software and systems assets for the purpose of tracking their corresponding licenses.
Advise and define license recommendations that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Assist IT Finance and/or Purchasing/Procurement Manager in developing and implementing all software purchasing policies and procedures, including those for equipment, hardware, and software
Monitor licenses for compliance with organizational needs and requirements, including follow-up checks for corrective action.
Develop and deliver license reports.
Administer license change management and license closure.
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent licensing activities and best practices.
Effectively communicate software upgrade and licensing strategies to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, etc.)
9 years relevent experience with at least 3-5 years direct work experience in a contracts licensing/management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
National Contract Management Association Certified Professional Contract Manager certification
Lean Six Sigma experience; Green Belt, Black Belt certification
Experience in Financial Reporting and Budgeting
Strong familiarity and technical competence with contract management software and/or applicable automated systems
Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
Budgeting, inventory, and cost-management Experience
Technically competent with various software programs, such as SharePoint, MS Application Suite, Tableau.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
Strong Customer service skills
