Harris is searching for talented experienced Information Security Systems Engineering professionals to join the Harris Security Tier 2/3 Operations Engineering Team, these are Level 2 Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) positions. These positions may require weekend and after hours work to meet program requirements. Please refer to the job description provided below.
Information Security System Engineering support and technical execution of information security activities associated with the implementation of NIST-certified information systems for the Enterprise.
Provide Security Tier 2 Operations Engineering, including the design, testing, configuration, management and maintenance of enterprise security component systems (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VPN, IDSs, Virus Scanning, etc.) within NIST-certified networks and systems.
Responsible for Tier 3 escalation and investigation/resolution of security events impacting the security architectures within the Enterprise.
Support Configuration development and Maintenance Requests (MRs) to onboard new or modified connections/flows through enterprise security gateways.
Assist the Enterprise Security Architect in the development and CONOPS for emerging security technologies and proposals.
Support Compliance Certification and Vulnerability Assessments as required.
Support the evaluation, qualification, testing and delivery of security architecture improvement, obsolescence replacement and vulnerability response projects.
Support Information Assurance (IA) data collection and continuous monitoring updates for assigned security architectures.
BS/BA (or equivalent) degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security, or related field, and a minimum 4+ years related work experience.
4 + years of experience in network security systems engineering and Information Assurance (IA) fields
Understanding of NIST and FISMA policies.
Self-motivated individual, able to work well independently as well as within an inter-disciplinary engineering team.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Prior experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more of the network security domains (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VPN, IDSs, and Virus Scanning).
PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Telecommunications network engineering experience.
SIEM content development and administration.
Experience in Cyber Defense technologies.
Understanding of attack / defense scenarios.
Understanding of system vulnerabilities and exploitation.
Preferred Additional Certifications:
Comp TIA Security+ certification
