Harris is searching for talented experienced Information Security Systems Engineering professionals to join the Harris Security Engineering Team; the selected individual will work in a multi-discipline environment to address security issues from a stakeholder protection needs, concerns, and requirements perspective and use established engineering processes to ensure that such needs, concerns, and requirements are appropriately addressed, early and in a sustainable manner throughout the life cycle of the system. Information Security System Engineering support and technical execution of information security activities associated with the implementation of NIST-certified information systems for the Enterprise.
Support Information Assurance (IA) data collection, documentation, and continuous monitoring updates for assigned security architectures.
Provide Security Tier 2 Operations Engineering, including the design, testing, configuration, management and maintenance of enterprise security component systems (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VPN, IDSs, Virus Scanning, etc.) within NIST-certified networks and systems.
Responsible for Tier 3 escalation and investigation/resolution of security events impacting the security architectures within the Enterprise.
Assist the Enterprise Security Architect in the development and CONOPS for emerging security technologies and proposals.
Support Compliance Certification and Vulnerability Assessments as required.
Support the evaluation, qualification, testing and delivery of security architecture improvement, obsolescence replacement and vulnerability response projects.
BS/BA (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science, IT Security or related field, and minimum 6 years related experience.
Five or more years of experience in security/network engineering fields (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VPN).
Experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more of the network security domains (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VPN, IDSs, and Virus Scanning).
Experience with of system logs and log analysis.
Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems (OS).
Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
Experience with written and oral communications.
PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Experience serving Government customers in a security environment a plus.
Experience in Cyber Defense technologies.
Understanding of system vulnerabilities and exploitation.
Ability to prioritize and document tasks.
Ability to think outside the box and make informed decisions in an operational environment.
Strong project engineering experience in security-related environments.
Strong listening, written and oral communication skills.
Ability to assist and lead other teammates, and work well with multi-discipline teams
Self-motivated individual, able to work well independently as well as within an inter-disciplinary engineering team.
Preferred Additional Certifications:
Comp TIA Security+, or higher, certification.
CCNA, or higher certification.
Must be able to obtain and Maintain an FAA Public Trust
