Job Description:

The Avionics Business Unit within Harris is seeking a program manager focused on sustainment, repair, & retrofit efforts within the F-35 enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads internal program team and monitors all program activities to ensure compliance with product specifications, performance requirements, schedules (repair turnaround time, etc.), and cost commitments.

  • Manages programs through the integration of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) processes and procedures.

  • Serves as proposal capture manager including kickoff, PCR/pricing reviews, and cost volume submission for follow-on and new sustainment requirements.

  • Leads the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.

  • Identifies the existing or potential program risks and drives mitigation action, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.

  • Oversees the generation, quality, and timeliness of all written customer deliverables and reports.

  • Responsible for managing a collaborative work environment with multiple customers to achieve business objectives.

  • Ensures that all resources such as engineering, manpower, operations, and facilities are available to support the program.

  • Drives continuous process improvement of non-production / sustainment tasking.

  • Supports business unit management in the development of a long-term growth strategy for F-35 Enterprise sustainment programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or logistics; with six or more years’ experience in managing avionics sustainment, repair, & retrofit programs.

  • Experience with contractual, financial, technical, and other cross functional areas to provide leadership over a wide breadth of program activities.

  • Experience with Performance Based Logistics (PBL) principles, experience leading and executing PBL based contracts

  • Experience leading proposals and with the business acquisition process in general within the defense industry

  • Working knowledge of EVMS

  • Experience with risk and change management

  • Experience in a direct customer facing role

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Masters in a technical discipline)

  • Ability to develop creative business cases to create best value solutions for both Harris and customer stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in successfully achieving defined goals and objectives within cost and schedule constraints.

  • Experience in the deployment of depot level repair and sustainment capabilities

  • Experience or training (DAU) in an aircraft logistics environment

  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills to present information to team members, management, and customers.

  • Self-motivated and accountable, possess strong initiative and ability to function in a dynamic environment

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Creative and objective thinker, problem solver with an ability to execute challenging tasks to completion
