The candidate will be a member of a team responsible for the definition, design, implementation, and support of standard configurations of all Cisco network and security platforms used within the Harris VIDA network. The team is responsible for developing a standard architecture and the supporting templates and tools which can be used for implementation to consistently deploy networks that maintain high security, high availability, and the best possible performance of multiple large-scale mission critical voice systems. The candidate will also be responsible for responding to and implementing items identified during security assessments of the networks.
The candidate will be responsible for implementation of complex customer networks and periodically provide tier 3 assistance for other team members to identify network problems, isolate root causes, and initiate corrective action in fielded systems. The candidate will interact with system engineers, program managers, and field engineers regarding ongoing network activities. The candidate will also be responsible for escalating and interfacing with vendor technical assistance centers to resolve vendor software issues.
- 6+ years of experience designing, deploying and supporting networks built on Cisco platforms and technologies with BS/BA (Bachelors) degree in computer science, engineering or related field required
Preferred Additional Skills:
Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking principles, including WAN and dynamic routing technologies
Knowledge in network security and network security auditing tools, including IPSEC, VPN, and tunneling technologies
Understanding of troubleshooting network issuesIn depth knowledge of Cisco ISR G2’s and classic IOS, as well as, Cisco ISR 4K’s and IOS-XE
Professional certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCIE, CISSP) are a plus
Knowledge of programming technologies, including VBA and C#
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems
Working knowledge of the Solaris/UNIX operating systems
