Help revolutionize critical solutions for the ISR, space superiority, weather and geospatial information markets.

The successful candidate will work effectively with senior segment executive leadership as well as business development, technical and functional entities for the purpose of achieving segment financial goals by engaging customers, identifying potential business opportunities, and supporting corporate and segment strategic growth activities. This position will be supporting the $2B Space and Intelligence Systems Segment.

As part of the business development team and in partnership with corporate and business segment leadership, the successful candidate will:

  • Lead senior-level customer engagement activities supporting strategic opportunities across the $2B Space and Intelligence Systems Segment (SIS.)

  • Serve as liaison to the corporate customer engagement team representing SIS interests

  • Help identify new markets, unmet needs and opportunities for further exploration and development

  • Support trade show planning to ensure event objectives and customer engagement plans are aligned

  • Prioritize executive engagements at trade shows

  • Prepare and coordinate read-ahead and messaging for senior executive level customer visits

  • Update and maintain SIS Top 50 customer engagement plans to ensure optimal cadence

  • Support the collection of competitive intelligence and information to enhance Harris understanding of customers

  • Play an active role in at least one government or industry board with interests relative to SIS

  • Collaborate with BD team including marketing communications, business development leaders, and capture teams

  • Support the qualification process of new opportunities and “connect the dots” between different areas of the segment to ensure we provide the best value to the customers

  • Develop and manage supporting consultants for the segment

  • Organize participation in forums/conferences to further position Harris as a thought leader in the space and intelligence industry

  • Represent Harris Corporation at customer meetings, Industry related meetings and conferences

Technology Understanding

  • Translate technical understanding of products and technology for purposes of customer communication and engagement.

  • Understand and influence the segment strategies with customer perspectives

Change Agent

  • Act as a change agent for the business, ensuring strategies and campaigns are mission and customer focused.

Business Rhythm

  • Support the day-to-day business rhythm and reporting

  • Organize participation in forums/conferences to further position Harris as a thought leader in the space and intelligence industry

  • Represent Harris Corporation at customer meetings, Industry related meetings and conferences

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with 12 plus years of experience or post graduate degree and 8 years of experience in engineering; or equivalent with understanding and familiarity with space and intelligence market

  • TS/SCI Active Clearance

  • 10 plus years demonstrated experience engaging with senior executives at government agencies, major prime contractors, and commercial companies

  • 5-10 years established contacts with major customers in the space and intelligence markets

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Disciplined, self-starting professional who can bring projects to closure with minimum direction, guidance and oversight

  • Engineering Background with Space and Intelligence Systems are ideal.

  • Experience leading programs/projects

  • Ability to lead and develop relationships with geographically dispersed people

  • Ability to Travel – up to 30%
