Job Description:

An opportunity exists in the DC metro area for an experienced technical business development manager. The role involves the identification and development of opportunities using Harris’ ATC surveillance solutions. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in business development of complex systems for air traffic control surveillance customers including the FAA. Using technical and commercial skills, the successful candidate will work with customers and our engineering team to develop solutions using advanced technologies to provide mission critical solutions our ATC customers. The role will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities in the ATC market with responsibility of developing and managing the relationship between Harris Corporation and strategic industry partners, federal, commercial, and international customers. This is a great opportunity for a self-driven Business Development Manager to own and develop this active market.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the ATC business opportunities for surveillance solutions

  • Identifying, Developing and Managing sales opportunities to close

  • Developing strong business relationships with strategic industry partners

  • Operating the sales and marketing activities within company financial and budgetary constraints

  • Meeting sales targets in each financial year and developing pipeline for future years

Essential Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a business or technology emphasis preferred, or similar degree and 7 or more year's relevant work experience in business development and a demonstrated sales performance record.

  • Previous business development experience

  • Previous sales experience with US government and prime contractors

  • Established business network with Prime contractors and government end user (preference for FAA experience)

  • Deep understanding of air traffic control surveillance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of business development/sales experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely in a sales capacity

You are able to obtain the requisite security clearance(s) prior to starting with Harris and within a timeframe acceptable to Harris, and maintain the clearance(s) thereafter as required.
