Provide support to the Harris Test Group, which performs assembly, integration and testing of highly reliable space hardware assemblies of moderate to high complexity.
Task would include but not be limited to:
Gather and distribute assembly tools and test equipment for calibration and deliver to assembly and test areas for use.
Support clean room, test and assembly area periodic cleaning activities.
Support equipment performance verifications (validation, proof-loads, resistance checks, etc.).
Support transport of equipment to and from storage facilities in Fort Wayne and other Harris or customer sites.
Support movement of space flight hardware in support of test activities.
Read and follow test processes used to support testing of electrical sub-assemblies and components; including electrical modules, optical assemblies and cables at a sub-system level and/or system and payload levels.
Contribute to process improvement development and problem resolution.
Travel to Harris and/or Customer sites as needed for post-delivery support and integration activities.
Overtime will be required frequently to support customer product testing.
Work non-standard shifts as required during specific test activities.
Will work in a clean room environment for long periods of time (> 2 hours).
At times work holidays, weekends and do occasional overnight travel; work may include shift work
High School diploma or GED with 0-3 years of experience in electronics, mechanical assemblies, integration and/or testing.
Travel up to 50%
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience working with a variety of electrical and/or mechanical assemblies
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Experience with ESD safeguards and contamination control
Experience with benchtop testing of electrical/mechanical assemblies
Experience with property control processes
Experience working with computer systems and their use with test equipment operation.
Experience using common test equipment; DVM, O’scope, DSA, Power Supplies etc.
Embodies strong professional work ethic, self-motivation and a high attention to details
