Harris Corporation Space and Intelligence Systems has an opening for a Property & Warehouse Inventory Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado .

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Property Manager/Administrator with the maintenance of records and control of all Harris Owned, Contractor Acquired and Government Furnished Property (GFP) on the SENSOR Contract in accordance with applicable government regulations, supplements by agency unique regulations, company procedures or government relations

  • Maintain records and logs of property and material received, transferred, allocated, held and disposed

  • Coordinate property transfers; conducts periodic property inventories; and prepares reports of property status

  • Assist with the investigation and reports all cases of loss, damage or destruction of Exelis owned or Government property

  • Ensure compliance with property control requirements as referenced in FAR subpart 45; the Government Property Control Manual and NPMA recommendations

  • Assist with wall-to-wall physical inventory / audits of all Material and assets on the SENSOR Contract

  • Prepare correspondence on GFP items, maintaining supporting documents and records

  • Assist with the proper marking of all property assigned to the work centers

  • Required to make local pick-ups and deliveries to a variety of locations as necessary

  • Assist with the control of hand receipt procedures and property storage.

  • Assist in establishing and updating procedures for Property Control Systems

  • Establish corrective action plan from property control discrepancies

  • Establish and execute procedures for internal audit of property

  • Provide guidance and training on property related issues

  • Process disposition of property through DCMA

  • Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment

  • Validate items received within the warehouse for paperwork accuracy, condition code, annotate overage, shortage or damage shipments and store in appropriate location.

  • Inspect materials for in-transit damage and interfaces with carriers regarding in-transit damage claims

  • Maintain inventory control on all material and assets within the SENSOR Warehouse via an automated inventory management system (IMS)

  • Input transactions in GOLD database both at time of receipt and when transferred to customer

  • Stock, Store, Issue and Ship material for SENSOR contract

  • Operate forklift and other heavy material movement equipment

  • Maintain data records for incoming and outgoing shipments and inspection records and reports.

  • Follow safety and security precautions for handling and storing dangerous materials or specialty items

  • Process shipping documents for these items as required according to HAZMAT IATA and MIL AIR shipping regulations

  • Package international shipments according to regulations and completes all required paperwork for Customs inspections

  • Package sensitive items according to SPI’s and Unique packaging requirements utilizing tools such Foam-in-place chemicals machine and specialized foam cutouts

  • Perform monthly warehouse safety inspections

  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and order

  • Support Urgent/Emergency Depot Level Maintenance material and shipping requirements

  • Maintain file system for TDS, DD1149’s; both incoming and outgoing shipments

  • Examine, stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines

  • Maintain knowledge of material handling procedures and environmental health and safety requirements

  • Required ability to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and working overhead

  • Must be able to lift over 50lbs

  • Must be willing to work any shift or work schedule

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 8+ years of experience warehousing, shipping and receiving, and military base supply system OR

  • Associates Degree and 4+ years of experience warehousing, shipping and receiving, and military base supply system

  • NPMA CPPS Certification

  • A valid Colorado driver’s license and clean driving record

  • An active DoD Secret security clearance

  • The ability to obtain and maintain program access

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience handling electronic components

  • Current MIL HAZMAT certification and MIL transport experience

  • Receiving and material handling experience or equivalent stockroom knowledge

  • GOLD property management system familiarity

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. In order to obtain and maintain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
