Responsible for architecting, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating and integrating electronic equipment, electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for complex, high performance hardware systems. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. May use high level programming language to configure programmable logic devices. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. Able to identify component operational characteristics that may impact system performance and or sustainability. May also review vendor capability to support development. Includes the application of specialized skill sets including digital, FPGA, DSP, CCA, power, antenna, RF and control systems knowledge as required.
Design analog/RF/microwave circuit cards and microelectronics assemblies for use in electronic warfare applications with challenging SWaP requirements with emphasis on design of analog circuitry including operational amplifiers, log video amplifiers and high speed clock distribution networks
Interpret system design documents and decompose specifications for lower level RF assemblies
Select COTS components within unit production cost guidelines
Specify custom or semi-custom components to achieve required system performance
Supervise layout of complex multi-layer PCBs
Develop test specifications and execute design verification tests for developmental and production hardware
Review the work of junior engineers and provide guidance where needed
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field and 6 years of related experience OR M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field and 4 years of related experience
Demonstrated ability to simulate analog circuits using pspice or similar tools
Thorough understanding of key analog parameters (gain/bandwidth, amplifier stability, noise figure, cascaded noise sensitivity)
Solid fundamentals in electrical engineering (ability to troubleshoot assemblies down to the component level)
Ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced volume production environment.
Ability to obtain a US DOD SECRET security clearance
MS in Electrical Engineering, or other related field
Active US DOD TOP SECRET security clearance
Experience with high speed and low noise PCB layout
Experience with or exposure to custom ASIC design, phase shifters and or I/Q modulators, wideband voltage controlled oscillators and phased locked loops is preferred but not required.
Demonstrated ability to simulate microwave circuits using Keysight ADS (preferred) or similar tools
This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance in order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
