Harris Corporation Space and Intelligence Systems has an opening for an Production Planner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clifton, New Jersey . The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings. The selected candidate will be responsible for helping plan and execute production schedules to meet contractual deliveries.

Essential Functions:

  • Act as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders

  • Interface with Shop Floor Supervision, Product Team Leads, Operations Management and Program Management to schedule and prioritize hardware production and repairs

  • Track and report on the status of work-in-process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are scheduled and provided as needed

  • Generate and analyze as-built hardware configuration of multi-level system assemblies for accuracy and compliance to requirements

  • Coordinate production activities to meet milestone delivery goals defined internally and externally

  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve potential production schedule risks

  • Create, edit, maintain status, and perform schedule analysis of program shop floor schedule

  • Analyze, process, and manage both soft and hard copies of documentation in a variety of work-in-process tracking tools

  • Ensure compliance with internal program procedures and project control system guidelines

  • Ad hoc projects

  • Must be willing to work any shift or work schedule

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

  • Experience in scheduling and manufacturing or production

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • The ability to obtain and maintain program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in scheduling and executing production plans based off MRP in the aerospace/defense sector

  • 1+ years working in a production planning or coordination role or in a materials or production control function

  • 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Project

  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Materials Resource Planning System (MRP), such as AS400

  • 1+ years of experience using Milestone Professional software

  • Experience creating Excel spreadsheet pivot tables

  • Experience with problem solving tool set: Root Cause/Corrective Action, Cause & Effect, 5-Whys

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or similar continuous improvement tools including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Green Belt Training, etc.

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)

This position requires the selected candidate to be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
