Job Description:

Perform installation, maintenance and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment. Included in the duties are: locating and diagnosing failures, replacing defective components, performing basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals and verbal and/or written instructions. Appropriate maintenance and repair logs will be used as well as a variety of hand, power, and test tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, procedures and methods to insure maximum machine availability, performance, and yield.

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions to determine failure mechanism and implement “hands on” corrective maintenance as required of complex electronics assembly equipment.

  • As required, supervise work performed by outside subcontractors for maintenance and repair of critical equipment.

  • Identify procedural changes to reduce equipment changeovers and frequency.

  • Comply with local ordinances, State of New Jersey Laws and Codes, OSHA, and insurance carrier’s recommendations. Ensure compliance of TPM program with all AS9100 requirements and achieve maximum operational time of assembly equipment.

  • Report on the Monthly MOR for Clifton Ops Metrics which includes Preventative Maintenance on Time, Aging Unplanned, and TPM Percentage.

  • Provide technical support to continuously improve critical manufacturing processes.

  • Estimate labor and material costs for preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Responsible for requisitioning and control of spare parts, supplies, equipment, tools and outside contracted maintenance services.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience with a high school diploma or 2+ years of experience with an Associate’s degree in an applicable technical discipline

  • 2+ years of experience working in production, plant engineering or maintenance fields supporting the electronics assembly industry

  • 2+ years troubleshooting and repairing electronics assembly equipment

  • 2+ years working with lock out and tag out procedures

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification or knowledge of Lean Principals, 5S+1, VSM, Standard Work, or any other Lean Manufacturing Tools
