Job Description:

The Contracts Administrator will support a variety of programs and new business activities within the Electronic Warfare Business at Harris Corporation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Close Interaction with external customers and internal program management office.

  • Responsible for proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities for assigned contracts/programs.

  • Serves as the primary communication conduit between Harris and the respective customers.

  • Provides a proactive voice in the business process.

  • Provides proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Analyzes material estimates, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepares bids and proposals.

  • Prepares and conducts negotiations.

  • Processes specifications, progress reports, and other reports.

  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations.

  • Compiles and analyzes data as required.

  • Maintains historical information for assigned contracts.


  • BA/BS in a business or related field with 6+ years of experience in contracts management, preferably dealing with US Government contracts.

  • Direct experience with FAR, DFAR, ITAR, EAR, CAS.

  • 4+ years Contract Negotiation experience.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).

  • Elegible to obtain DOD Secret security clearance*

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Master’s Degree/MBA is a plus

  • Experience with international and commercial contracts is a plus.

  • Demonstrated business acumen/finance experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships.

  • Excellent interpersonal & communications (written and oral) skills.

  • NCMA professional certifications (CPCM, CFCM, etc) are a strong plus.

  • Active DOD Secret security clearance

*This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
