Job Description:

Harris Corporation is seeking a Contracts Administrator in Chesapeake, VA who will be responsible for assisting with and administering commercial, government, and international proposals and contracts. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow and take on additional responsibilities as they become more experienced in the role.

  • Assist in preparation and submittal of proposals/quotations compliant to customer’s requirements and appropriate regulation and law.

  • Assist in negotiating price, terms and conditions consistent with customer resource availability and division sales and profit objectives.

  • Provide customer interface on all administrative matters related to the projects.

  • Provide an in-house resource on procurement procedural, administrative, and regulatory matters.

  • Identify customer action/direction, and ensure that such work is performed with appropriate approval and equitable compensation to the division.

  • Establish positive and professional relationships with customer personnel to continuously improve Harris image and product marketability.

  • Assist in reviewing, interpreting and recommending acceptance, revisions and exceptions to contracts and contract modifications and/or amendments to ensure that prices, delivery schedules, specifications and terms and conditions are consistent with those quoted and or negotiated.

  • Coordinate closeouts with regard to final billings, material retention/disposition and classified material disposition.

  • Ensure timely deliveries of proposals, CDRLs and other customer deliverables.

  • Process contract funding into CostPoint.

  • Prepare and negotiate contractual agreements including Non-Disclosure, Memorandum of Understandings/Memorandum of Agreements, and other binding agreements as the business opportunity presents.

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, corporate policies and best practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Contracts Manager.


  • 1+ years of Contract Administration experience with BS/BA (Bachelors).

  • Skilled in MS Office products.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CostPoint.

  • Knowledge of ITAR/EAR.

  • Written and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in team environment.

  • Familiarity U.S. government agencies is a plus.
