Harris Corporation Space and Intelligence Systems has an opening for a Specialist, Professional Services Consulting to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Broomfield, Colorado . The individual will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Act as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders

  • Work on one or more projects in a technical role

  • Demonstrate technical skill and knowledge in software development and/or a key domain area

  • Assist in the design of appropriate solutions by soliciting input from customers, peers, and other stakeholders.

  • Participate in requirements analysis and generation

  • Impact HGS revenue through maximizing billable hours or other revenue-generating activities

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow business both in active projects and pre-sales situations

  • Estimate time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project or project components

  • Develop or provide input to a project plan incorporating all project variables

  • Establish criteria concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and costs

  • Engage with the customer to win their confidence and trust

  • Meet with clients to help understand and develop requirements and identify potential solutions for their needs

  • Assist in the creation of proposals, including design/architecture documents and specification development.

  • Promote HGS and complimentary technologies

  • Perform research and development that benefits the business, including writing and supporting white papers, developing prototypes, and investigating applicable new technologies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 4+ years of experience OR

  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in image processing, remote sensing, or computer science

  • 4+ years of experience in product design, product development, technical product support or consulting

  • Excellent programming skills with proven proficiency in IDL/ENVI or other relevant computer languages

  • Experience with modern software engineering processes and methodologies

  • Knowledge of remote sensing/Earth sciences theory and application

  • Experience with cloud deployment, hosting technology solutions, Platform as a Services (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)

  • Experience estimating resource and schedule requirements for projects

  • Use of remote sensing domain expertise combined with product knowledge to provide excellent pre and post-sales support to customers
