What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

• Develop and prototyping of new power and control circuits, including programmable logic devices, or design modification of existing products

• Programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL using Xilinx

• Develop software for microprocessor-based circuits, including serial communications interfaces

• Generate DC schematic diagrams and lay out DC PCBs using Altium

• Creation of DC power budgets to track power consumption

• Documentation of product design either directly or through supervision of contractors or drawing office staff as appropriate

• Perform stress analysis and reliability predictions

• Qualification testing of new products, including EMI/EMC, etc

• Ability to deal with customers and present design details during customer reviews

• Review project schedules and meet financial and time constraints

• Participate in R&D meetings to evaluate new technical opportunities and contribute to company strategic direction

  What you’ll bring

  The role of Hardware Engineer requires the following experience and skills:

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline

• Experience as a Hardware Engineer

• Experience in programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL using Xilinx or Altera

• Knowledge of Altium with regards to generating DC schematic diagrams

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Accuracy, thoroughness, persistence and attention to detail
