Are you inspired by taking innovative technology to create new business opportunities in earth observation markets? We are seeking a Sales Manager to support our growing business within the German speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). You will lead our local direct sales team and drive new business for Harris software solutions. We are looking for experienced and like-minded people who can share our passion for success. This position demands excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.

As a successful candidate, you will have a background in the geospatial marketplace. Relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, you will typically handle our larger accounts and more complex business areas. Harris Geospatial works with a large variety of industries which are using earth observation data in their businesses and decision processes. Interest and experiences in industries like environment, agriculture, utilities, transportation, insurance, safety, defense, research & academia, or civilian government will support your success.

In this highly visible, high impact role, you will:

  • Develop and execute sales plans to exceed short-term and prepare for long-term financial targets.

  • Work with the sales team, solution engineers and consultants solve complex customer needs.

  • Analyze, develop and create projects and opportunities to expand our business across the Harris portfolio.

  • Identify partnering opportunities to broaden customer reach within specific vertical markets.

  • Represent Harris at field marketing events, industry trade shows, conferences, and seminars.

  • Mentor, support, and cooperate with local sales and sales support team.

  • Collaborate with our consulting services, product development, and marketing departments.

Your success in this role will be based on:

  • Significant sales and leadership experience and a strong network within the geospatial industry.

  • Proven track record and demonstrated ability to develop and close 100k$ plus projects and programs.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in German (native) and English, other languages are a plus.

  • Strategic thinking with good understanding of market needs and expectations by offering unique solutions.

  • Networking with client stakeholders, building connections and identifying synergies within Harris offerings.

  • Ability to drives for results, independently and self-directed with minimal direction or supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, GeoScience, or related field with 10+ years of experience or equivalent

This position is performed in our German subsidiary near Munich with travel requirements up to 30-40%, knowing that high levels of stress and workload with over hours may occur.
