Harris is seeking a Site integration lead for installing satellite communications terminals at military bases worldwide. Manage a team of 6-8 engineering technicians to successfully complete the integration of antenna systems. The position will be fast paced and schedule driven. Heavy interaction with the customer and base personnel is required. Ability to travel for 8 months out of the year. Home base is in Malabar, FL.

Responsibilities include:

  • Travel to military bases worldwide to lead antenna terminal integration

  • Manage daily logistics and workflow to ensure schedule is maintained

  • Manage team of 6-8 technicians (both Harris and subcontract labor)

  • Support terminal de-installations

  • Support site assessments for new terminal installs

  • Interface with customer and base personnel

  • Support customer with field problem reports

  • Create workaround plans for schedule slips

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage cost accounts for field installs

  • Work closely in the field with subcontractors to support antenna integration

  • Generate weekly status reports while in the field

  • Ability to evaluate safety hazards in the field and keep team injury free

  • Interface cross functionally; program management, quality, supply chain, operations management, etc.

  • Support operations initiatives and manufacturing production efforts while in plant

  • Support lean/process improvement initiatives of technical and operational nature

  • Support root cause and corrective action processes

  • Review and approve drawing and parts lists revision updates

  • Work closely with engineering to understand site specific requirements for the installation

  • Ability to estimate hours for job tasks working with financial management team


  • Associates degree and 15+ years’ industry experience in electro-mechanical environment.

  • Hands-on experience with Box Build Electro-Mechanical Assemblies.

  • Ability to travel for approximately 8 months out of the year

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • DoD Secret clearance

  • Background in the manufacturing of electronics for military and government systems, with a special focus on satellite communications

  • Background in fast paced field environment

  • Background in metrology (theodolite, photogrammetry, etc)

  • Background in developing/improving manufacturing processes

  • Familiarity with root cause and corrective action analysis tools for use towards manufacturing process problems, workmanship defects, mechanical test failures, etc.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, or working knowledge of Lean/Process Improvement tools.

  • Good communication skills including the ability to deliver effective presentations to peers, management, and customers

  • Proven record of successfully setting accomplishments at targeting and achieving results, prioritizing tasks, overcoming obstacles, establishing team standards and responsibilities and creating a results-focused environment
