Job Description:

RF/Analog Engineer - Harris PSPC is seeking a qualified, energetic individual to specify, design and develop capability for the next generation of Land Mobile Radios (LMR) and LTE mobile devices used by Police, Fire and other first responders. Diverse design tasks can include implementing and overseeing the design of RF amplifiers, receivers, synthesizers, and modulators as a part of complete radio systems. Circuit design, component and vendor evaluation, control systems design, communications systems analysis, PWB layout, and rapid prototype evaluation are core activities for RF/Analog Engineers at Harris. The successful candidate will be responsible for: working with internal and external resources to analyze requirements, develop and evaluate RF/analog circuit designs for manufacturability, testability, cost, schedule, and quality; Developing plans and schedules for short-term and fiscal year activities including risk impact assessment and mitigation plans; provide guidance to junior engineers; understand and be able to employ statistical methods; demonstrate problem solving skills; manage multiple tasks and small teams.


  • Qualified candidates will have BSEE and a minimum of 5 years of experience in: RF electrical design;

  • Experience with design and conduct experimental tests and evaluates results

  • Experience producing and designing rugged and reliable products

  • Knowledge of MIL-STDs; experience with FCC testing, EIA/TIA standards and testing

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, Pb-free, and ESD procedures

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in common office applications; have good communications and team leadership skills

  • Enjoy working with a high energy team

  • Knowledge of cabling, batteries, chargers, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS

  • Experience with TIA102 and TIA603 or cellular 3GPP standards desired

  • Mechanical integration and Intrinsically Safe design a plus

  • Prior experience using or developing Land Mobile Radio or commercial cellular mobile devices is highly desirable
