Job Description:

EE4 Engineering Project Leader. Harris PSPC is seeking a qualified, energetic individual to specify, design and develop capability for the next generation of Land Mobile Radios (LMR) and LTE mobile devices used by Police, Fire and other first responders. Support product development of portable radios and accessories for the public safety land mobile radio market (P25, FDMA, TDMA and LTE technologies). Work with internal and external project teams to generate requirements, design, analyze and develop hardware, perform verification tests, and support product maintenance activities. Work with and direct resources performing mechanical design, RF design, general electrical design, regulatory approvals and certifications. LTE/RF handset design experience strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Organizing project team, planning and scheduling, maintaining project and technical documentation, status reporting, and delivering final product meeting cost, schedule, and quality goals. General responsibilities include provide guidance to junior engineers; application of statistical methods; problem solving, managing priorities.

Qualifications:

  • BSEE and a minimum of 7 years of experience in: RFelectrical design; design and conducts experimental tests and evaluates results; producing and designing rugged and reliable products

  • Knowledge of MIL-STDs

  • Experience with FCC testing, EIA/TIA standards and testing

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, Pb-free, and ESD procedures

  • Proficient in common office applications; have good communications and team leadership skills

  • Enjoy working with a high energy team

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Have knowledge of cabling, batteries, chargers, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS is highly desirable

  • Experience with TIA102 and TIA603 or cellular 3GPP standards desired

  • Mechanical integration and Intrinsically Safe design a plus

  • Prior experience using or developing Land Mobile Radio or commercial cellular mobile devices is highly desirable
